Bird Watching with Scott Isherwood Around Webb Lake

  • Town Hall weld maine 04285 (map)

The Webb Lake Association will be holding two birdwatching field trips around Webb Lake. Late spring is a wonderful time to see and hear all the birds that make the lake their home for the next five to six months. The lake, its tributaries and surrounding wetlands and fields provide a relatively unique environment where you have a good chance to see 20 of the 24 or so warblers found in the northeast and eastern Canada. Also likely to see buntings, orioles, grosbeaks, tanagers, thrushes, sparrows, blackbirds and bobolinks. Our first outing will be on Saturday, May 23rd and the second will be on June 6th.  We will meet at Town Hall at 8:30 am on both occasions. Plan to carpool from there and spend about 2 to 3 hours birding around the lake. For more information, please email Scott Isherwood at isherwoodscott@gmail.com.  Please note - this is a 'weather-permitting' event.  We will not meet if it's raining.
